The weather has been very changeable in August, with sunshine, showers, clouds, and even a couple of misty mornings. The roses were beautiful, the delphinium bloomed again, and the garden was full of butterflies and bees - they loved verbena bonariensis, nepeta, mint, and all the salvias.

The cats played by the catmint, explored every corner of the garden, and dozed in the shade.

The season is changing, and even in full summer I noticed the first signs of autumn, with its promise of a bountiful harvest.
