Here we restore the spring-fed water supply to our recently purchased coastal forest property. This sets up clean water to the pump outbuilding which is then pressurized to supply water to the house. Much of this had been left in a state of disrepair so we sorted out the intake, the pipe supplying the holding tank, and restored the water supply.

These videos chronicle projects both at home and at this coastal property. With several outbuildings and a coastal climate, there is no shortage of landscaping, timber, renovation, repair, and upkeep projects.

This build involves some masonry, dam/weir construction, water supply piping and plumbing, and problem solving to restore the clean flow of gravity-fed water to the house.

The water supply is not meant for drinking water but will rather support the sanitary, irrigation, and cleaning needs. There is a separate well casing we will work on in future episodes for drinking water purposes.

This work took place over many weeks as we work on other projects and find time to make the trip, secure supplies, and bring the tools and equipment needed to the remote site.

This is the first "full release" episode for @outbuildinginfo, a channel devoted to building things, tools, and new design ideas. The previous 9 episodes are "point releases" which helped develop the channel voice, learn the video creation tools, and develop a pattern for documenting building projects, reviewing tools, and sharing workshop enhancements along with occasional howto's.

This is only the beginning of a number of fun videos as we learn more about this property and engage all that it will take to remove invasive weeds, plant new sequoia and other trees for this climate, and likely rebuild the house as a mostly off grid and sustainable retreat.
