Welcome to Hard to Target!
Today, we’re sharing some simple ways to make your strikes much more powerful! Because you are a caring person, you would rather not hit anyone. When you must, you want those hits to feel like sledgehammers.

Our Purpose:
Our goal is to make you Hard to Target by sharing powerful self-defense knowledge, tools, and wisdom insights!
Hard to Target means:
1. Less likely to be attacked.
2. More likely to successfully defend against an attack.
In each Hard to Target video, we cover one or more aspects of 10 essential Self-Defense skill areas:
1. Awareness (Spatial, Kinesthetic, and Mental)
2. Ability to generate power
3. Defenses against common assaults (from the front)
4. Defenses against from side, rear, and other situations of disadvantage (sitting, in a car, etc.)
5. Ability to absorb blows: blocking, staying on your feet, and falling safely (so falling doesn’t end the fight)
6. Defenses from the ground
7. Defenses against weapons, and using weapons for defense
8. Strategic use of terrain
9. Ability to take control in multiple person attack scenarios
10. Mental resolve and physical combat heath.
Even though the topic is serious, we have fun together. I (Robin) have done this for 30+ years and I’ve found the best way to keep training interesting for everyone is to promote mutual respect and have fun!
Our insights stand on solid foundations.
Professionally sound:
Robin Redick is a certified instructor of Police Taiho Waza (police tactical restraints) and personal safety training. He is an instructor of Japanese Jujutsu, Taiho Jutsu, Police Aikido, Karate, and Taijutsu with 36 years of experience. He is a 6th degree black belt instructor with multi-level black belt credentials in each of the above listed arts.
Biblically based:
We believe that God is our creator and that His Word (the Bible) is His guide for purposeful living and healthy relationships. Robin is an ordained minister. He and Claire Redick have led numerous children, teenage, and adult ministries.
Community oriented:
We work to promote and support heathy professional and personal relationships in our community.
We refer to our training as “Dekiru”, a Japanese term that means “to be able”. We want you “able” to promote healthier, safer, more trusting and fulfilling relationships in your own circles of influence. That means promoting the virtues of Love (genuine will toward the well-being of another) and Respect (belief that another person has inherit value). In essence, we work to build community builders and givers.
A supplement to this is providing tools to help builders and givers defend themselves from destroyers and takers who enjoy violence, conquest and suppression, thievery, and just generally do not respect others.
