There’s no one definition of PCOS, it is considered genetic and runs in families and is usually accompanied by

1. High Androgens (HA)
2. Insulin Resistance (IR)
3. Inflammation

There is a type of PCOS where Androgens are not high, it is a less severe form and is not covered in this reel.

PCOS if not managed, can progress into fatty liver, obesity etc and is also associated with imbalance in gut microbiome. But when managed well through good nutrition, meds and exercise it can result in these:

- weight loss
- reduced IR
- reduced risk of T2 Diabetes
- reduced Androgens
- Improved fertility
- regular menses
.
Some reviews suggest that high sugar foods can be inducers of PCOS as they change the gut microbiome and trigger inflammation, IR etc. So, while IR typically develops due to excess and reversal means recuding excess. In PCOS it could develop for unknown reasons and reversal would mean, shifting the diet even more to bring about desired CHANGE, even if you were already eating healthily before.
