Thayir Vadai is a very popular South Indian dish. It is served as a starter or appetizer or as a snack. It can also be had as a light breakfast or tiffin. The South Indian style of thayir vada is different from the North Indian style dahi vada. In this the curd is seasoned and grated carrot, coriander leaves and kara boondi are used for garnishing. Usually vada is deep fried but I have made it with just a tsp of oil using the paniyaram pan. So it is healthy and guilt free. You can make and enjoy your favorite thayir vadai or dahi vada frequently as this is not deep fried. You will not feel that the thayir vada is made in paniyaram pan as it tastes just like the deep fried ones. I am sure you will love this healthy and tasty thayir vada.
