In *The Pre-Dawn Light*, Smith, the former manager of a Warhammer store, leads a small group of survivors through the zombie-infested ruins of King's Lynn. Joined by Clara and her son Ben, they face the daunting challenge of transitioning from a mobile unit to a community. Their goal is to reach the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for supplies and information about other survivors.

As they execute a daring plan to escape the city, Smith's group encounters hordes of undead and new, terrifying infected who display alarming intelligence. Smith devises a series of risky maneuvers, including using a crane to create a massive distraction, allowing his group to flee to the hospital. There, they gather crucial supplies and hear a promising radio transmission from the HMS Argyll offering evacuation for survivors who can reach the coast.

With hope rekindled, Smith leads his group out of King's Lynn, ready to face the unknown together. As the sun rises, they embark on a new journey, determined to find a future amidst the apocalypse.
