Surreal Street Views of Massive Megacity Chengdu Sichuan China 2017 - City Under Construction

This is Chengdu megacity surreal street view. Chengdu has gone through a dramatic change over the course of a decade. The 2000 plus-year-old ancient city has been replaced by endless rows of surreal, rather inhuman and gloomy, towers. New compounds and tower blocks pop up on each corner of the city like mushrooms after rain. It is an utmost concrete jungle with many streets still unnamed, and vast high-rise residential walls with no-one in those.
Chengdu, well known as a laid back relaxed city, has now become fast-paced business oriented megacity that will continue to grow substantially. Chengdu received an enormous amount of investments from all over China funnelled into the ancient city making it the fastest growing city in Asia for many years, while still being one of the fastest booming in the world. It is a retail centre of South West China, appointing it also as the capital of the region. Chengdu is located just under the wing of massive Tibetan plateau alongside its mighty mountainous shield. It is definitely a city worth visiting offering various entertaining urban facilities, yet so close to one of the most magical natural places China has to offer.
I personally lived there for almost 6 years, while now and then being utterly bewildered by the size, design of the structures, as well as the human capacity for installing such colossal things within the fraction of time compared to the West.
