On the Culture as Currency panel, Felix Darko (Paystack) explained that as AfCFTA drives greater harmonization and implementation, Africa can move toward more regularized and affordable cross-border logistics. While the agreement brings 54 siloed countries into one trading bloc, fragmentation still exists across regulation, compliance, and payments, creating friction for businesses.

Fintechs act as the glue holding Africa’s fragmented markets together, but compliance remains central to making integration work.

To unlock AfCFTA’s full potential, ecosystem players must support compliant, interoperable fintech infrastructure that connects markets seamlessly.
