Chapter 8: Captivity
After a harrowing encounter with Jeff in the distillery, Alyx descends into a sealed off tunnel that leads to the Vault. However, the tunnel was sealed for a reason, and she soon runs into Antlions, fiercely territorial and invasive Xen creatures that have overtaken a long abandoned zoo. To get closer to the Vault, she must blast her way through the nest, as well as Combine soldiers desperately trying to contain the beasts.

Notes:
Had Alyx grabbed a bottle (or two) of Vodka from the last chapter, her dialogue with Russell at 0:29 would be different
The Antlions in this game behave much differently than their HL2 counterparts. For one, they don't charge at Alyx as aggressively as they do Gordon. They also don't fly as often to cover large distances, preferring to slowly crawl towards their target. Finally, they have visible weak spots on their legs and abdomen, while the rest of their body seem to be bulletproof (in HL2 they are vulnerable to damage anywhere on their bodies)
While the above changes were probably made to balance the gameplay of fighting the Antlions in VR, an in-universe explanation for the "nerf" is that these Antlions aren't in spawning season, and are thus less aggressive
Shooting the Tiger display at 27:48 will wake the Zombie as well

Trivia:
After receiving the Extended Magazine upgrade (1:50), the SMG starts to resemble the OSIPR. Both guns feature an autoloading mechanism for the Pulse cells
Combine Sentry Guns/Turrets make their return at 4:02, although not as an enemy (complete with their HL2 sounds). These turrets are used extensively in HL2's Nova Prospekt to control the Antlion infestation
The bloody display room at 5:11, coupled with a bloody Tiger skull, implies that the Xen creatures have killed and eaten all of the zoo's animals
Another example of Zombies still being semi-conscious of their humanity at 13:57
The white quadraped bulb-looking like growth at 15:17 is prominently featured as part of the Xen flora in HL1
The mud-covered boot and "Bridges" container at 27:32 is a reference to the 2019 game "Death Stranding", by Kojima Productions
The area at 29:22 was first shown in the game's announcement trailer, at around the 0:55 mark
Another figurine of the Scout from TF2 (this one is of the BLU team) can be found at 30:19
