What Fraction of an Iceberg is Under the Water? | Buoyancy

Описание к видео What Fraction of an Iceberg is Under the Water? | Buoyancy

Use Archimedes principle to find the fraction of an iceberg which is submerged.

The buoyant force acting on a floating object is equal to the force by gravity acting on that object. Combined with Archimedes principle, which states that the buoyant force acting on an object is equal to the weight of fluid displaced, we can solve for how much of the iceberg must be under the water line.

This problem comes up in introductory physics courses as well as AP Physics 1 and even engineering courses such as PLTW POE
