Abgoosht is an Iranian stew. It is also called dizi (Persian: دیزی‎, pronounced [diːˈziː]), which refers to the traditional stoneware crocks it is served in. Some describe it as a "hearty mutton Persian soup thickened with chickpeas.

If you are a fan of traditional food, you know that the unique taste of this lamb stew cannot be compared to anything. One of our best memories is our family and friends gatherings for lunch with Dizi and Abgoshet on Friday at noon.

Ingredients for four:

16 ounces of boneless lamb
2 ounces garbanzo
2 ounces white beans
4 small tomatoes
4 tablespoons tomato paste
2 medium potatoes
1 large onion
4 cloves garlic
1.5 teaspoon salt
1.5 teaspoons turmeric
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoons cinnamon
4 small dried limes
