Life is never, ever going to go exactly how we think it's going to - so long as we're alive, we're going to be faced with situations that we've never been faced with before, that we have no map for and that we aren't going to be able to predict based on our lived experience so far.


We are always going to have a mind that projects what we already know and 'think' will be - but in order to live a FULL life, we must be willing to let go of our assumptions about how life SHOULD be, so that we can expand our awareness into how it actually IS going.


Many of us get stuck in life because we are so attached to our stories of how life 'should go.' We get stuck in challenges because we aren't allowing ourselves to learn from what's happening, but rather we keep projecting what we think 'should' be onto reality, fighting with reality and hoping that one day it will reflect back to us what we expect.


This means we can't ever move forward, because we then can't actually understand reality, and we can't then navigate the actual territory. We are stuck trying to navigate a territory that doesn't exist.


It's always going to be different than we think and this doesn't have to be a scary thing, if we know how to surrender our 'shoulds' in exchange for opening to learning from what IS.


This is how life expands us, and this is how we grow in wisdom.
