Please keep in mind that the Overseas Domestic Worker Visa lets overseas employers to bring their domestic workers with them when coming to the United Kingdom for up to 6 months. Domestic workers in private households can comprise carers, chauffeurs, cleaners, cooks, gardeners and nannie. They need to be employed in the UK in the employer’s house or in a house that they use frequently.

Requirements for the Overseas Domestic Worker Visa

Please keep in mind that applicants need to have been employed as a domestic worker in the same employer’s household outside the UK for a minimum of one year instantly before applying to enter the UK in this space. Visa holders will be required to adapt and back themselves without recourse to public funds.

Furthermore, the employer needs to be a British citizen who generally resides outside the UK and who does not plan to remain in the UK for more than 6 months, or be a foreign national who is coming to the UK on a visit and does not desire to stay for over 6 months.
