Russia-Ukraine War: Ukraine Hit by 700-Drone Barrage in Russia’s Biggest Air Offensive Yet

Russia unleashes record drone barrage on Ukraine; two killed in Kyiv. Russia launched its largest drone attack of the war, firing 728 drones and 13 missiles overnight. The assault hit 10 regions; Kyiv was worst hit with 2 dead and about a dozen injured. Blasts echoed across Kyiv for nearly 10 hours, with air defences lighting up the night sky. Drone debris sparked fires in several districts, damaging buildings. Lutsk, near the Polish border and key for military logistics, was among the hardest hit. Ukraine says the barrage aimed to disrupt Western arms supply amid U.S. aid delays. Ukraine also launched drones into Russia, killing three, including a child, in the Kursk region. Poland scrambled fighter jets and placed its forces on high alert due to the proximity of strikes. Russian forces say all targeted Ukrainian air bases were hit successfully. The attack marks the third record-setting drone barrage in two weeks.
