Merino Fingerless Gloves

Easy pattern for fingerless mittens made with merino wool (Chick Sheep by Red Heart). A breathable, stretchy, super soft (not itchy) yarn that yields an elegant project. Elegant, soft and very fashionable.

Fingerless Gloves (Double Seed Skipped Stitch)

or “Pebbles”

I used Red Heart, Chic Sheep (#4) Worsted.

Size 8 US Knitting Needles

k=knit

p=purl

wyif=with yarn in front

slip1p= slip stitch as if to purl.

Repeat from * to

Cast on 44 stitches and make ribbing:

Row1.- k *p, k to the end of the row.

Row2.- p k, p to the end of the row.

Knit these 2 rows 6 times (12 rows in total).



Start the Double Seed Skipped Stitch (Pebbles):

Row 1.- k, p, k the whole row.

Row 2.- k2,*wyif, slip1p, k1* until you have 3 left:

wyif slip 1p, k2.

Row 3.- p k, p the whole row.

Row 4.- k1, *wyif slip1p, purl*.

Repeat these 4 rows until you have the length you need.

Bind off on a right side row (1 or 3), following the same pattern.

Sew about 1 3/4” from the top-down.

Sew from the bottom to the top leaving about 2” without sewing

for the thumb.

Weave in ends.
