A breast lump is a swelling, bulge, or bump that develops in the breast for a variety of reasons, and it is mostly benign and not cancerous. Although it is better to consult a doctor about it; however, most benign breast lumps require no treatment. The doctor might advise a mammogram or ultrasound scan to identify the lump present. If a cyst or fibrous growth is present, they might suggest monitoring the lump without further treatment. In case of an abscess, the doctor may use a fine needle to drain it and prescribe medications. The doctor might suggest a biopsy if they suspect it to be cancerous.
