ICG & IOUS guided– Modified Extra-Glissonian approach for Robotic Central Hepatectomy for HCC
Demanding and highly challenging hilar dissection with surfing of the portal bifurcation and middle/right hepatic veins due to the extent of the tumour within the meso-liver.
We underline that the main advantage of the robotic approach in the hazardous liver surgery, is undoubtedly the dissection of the vascular structures.

In this video, an anatomical central hepatectomy for HCC extended to the retro-portal triad bifurcation, is performed with a technically motivating dissection of the main pedicles and critical structures. The release of the portal triad, and, the approach to the central liver along the hepatic veins was facilitated by the collaboration of the platform and bed-side, HPB surgeons.
The embedded IOUS, Tilepro and Firefly systems were improved our mapping and gave the opportunity to perform numerous cases without the use of Pringle Manoeuvre.
