Stage 1: Heaven – The Painful Beginning
Rudo was born in Heaven (Sphere), a floating city where Thought— the energy that fuels Vital Instruments—does not exist. From childhood, he carried deep scars on his arms, marks that caused him unbearable pain. These scars were eased only by the mysterious gloves given to him by his guardian, Regto.
Unknown to Rudo, these gloves were 3R, a relic from the legendary Watchman Series. At this point, he had no powers and no direction, but the seeds of his future growth had already been planted.
Stage 2: Trash Vandal – The Outcast Finds Purpose
Growing up, Rudo was lost and self-destructive. Regto taught him not to hurt others, but Rudo turned that inward, feeling worthless. That changed when he discovered his empathy for discarded items. He began repairing junk, crying for the things others threw away.
This passion earned him the title Trash Vandal, sneaking into waste sites, dodging bullets, and risking his life to save garbage others deemed worthless. But this stage ended tragically: Regto was murdered, Rudo was framed, and he was exiled to the Abyss, where his true potential began to awaken.
Stage 3: First Awakening – Chains of Survival
In the Abyss, Rudo faced monstrous trash beasts. Cornered and desperate, he instinctively transformed the chains binding him into a Vital Instrument. This was his first true leveling up moment.
Suddenly, the powerless Trash Vandal was now a Giver—a wielder of Thought. His weaponized chains crushed boulders and enemies alike. He even created a second weapon, a spiked tire, though he couldn’t wield multiple instruments at once. This was the turning point: Rudo had stepped into the world of Givers.
Stage 4: Cleaners – The Plunger Battle
After surviving his awakening, Rudo encountered the Cleaners, an organization dedicated to fighting trash beasts. He clashed with Zanka, a seasoned Cleaner, who underestimated Rudo’s powers. With no formal training, Rudo grabbed a filthy plunger, and to everyone’s shock, transformed it into a deadly weapon.
Though inexperienced, he proved his adaptability and resilience. This fight showed that Rudo’s Watchman Gloves allowed him to turn any discarded object into a Vital Instrument. While rough around the edges, he had officially leveled up into someone the Cleaners could no longer ignore.
Stage 5: Apprentice – The Struggle for Control
Before joining the Cleaners officially, Rudo underwent a trial as an apprentice. His first real mission exposed his limitations. Facing the Boxcutter Giant, a powerful trash beast with a Vital Instrument core, Rudo froze. His gloves produced a useless shape instead of a weapon.
Unlike before, his anger couldn’t fuel his powers. He struggled to control his ability, realizing he didn’t fully understand the Watchman Gloves. This was both a setback and a new stage in his growth: Rudo had to learn that his powers weren’t just fueled by rage, but also by belief and purpose.
Guided by Gris, Rudo reflected on why he fought in the first place. That realization—the desire to protect and to value the discarded—helped him regain focus. By reconnecting with his original purpose, Rudo leveled up again, this time gaining deeper control of his gloves and pushing toward a full transformation.
