It was around July 2012, my family and I decided to go on a family vacation to Alaska. I can still remember the sound of waves tingling in my ears as I step outside my balcony. The smell of fresh air and the warmth of the sun, and the excitement of going on a cruise for the first time will never be forgotten. As the cruise starts to sail away from the pier, I started to see Seattle from a distance. Seattle looks beautiful that morning with clear blue skies.
All the way from Seattle to Alaska, although it might look like it was close to each other but in reality, it was pretty far. Cruising means you’ll be in the middle of the ocean most of the time, without internet connection. Well that’s a big deal. Thankfully I know that I will have a lot of spare time in the cruise, so I bring my book along with me.
I get so excited when its time for the cruise to make its stop. We took a lot of walk to stretch our stiff muscles. There are a lot of cities in Alaska that I visited but Juneau is my favorite one. It is the liveliest city in compare to others.
Finally its time for train rides! I love exploring the beautiful sceneries of nature. It’s so exciting since I get to see a lot of different sceneries in one ride. I get to see a waterfall in the mountains. I was so surprised since it was very cool. I still remember myself holding my camera non-stop until the train rides ends since I don’t want to miss out on a single picture! I also saw beautiful pink flowers blooming by itself in nature.
My home country is in Indonesia, It is very hot and humid and flowers are rare over there. That is why I cherish the weather here since it allows flowers to bloom! Yellow purple pink flowers.. I love them all!
I still remember taking the cable car up to the top and I got to enjoy this gorgeous view. I wish I can turn back time to this moment again..
This is the best spot in Alaska to take a picture where I get to see colorful block houses. It was so cute, I feel like I’m going back to the old eras where tall buildings haven’t existed yet.
Finally.. I got to try the Alaskan king crab! The meat was so tender and flavorful, I feel like going back again.
Here’s a picture of my happy little family. My heart is full and I’m so happy I get to spend my summer break with them. In the end, its always family that will always be there for you, no matter what the circumstances. ¬
Its almost the end of the trip, and the ice bergs made a highlight! I was so shocked to see the huge ice from the window it was so mesmerizing! So I decided to go outside and take a closer look.. and taada! There are penguins swimming and playing near the ice!
