Sheaffer's Snorkel Fountain Pen Fill Mechanism

This is a quick look at the Sheaffer Snorkel Sentinel (circa 1954) and the Sheaffer Snorkel filling system, one of the most elaborate and over-engineered of all fountain pen mechanisms.

The Snorkel Sentinel in the video is a pen that I bought in used, but recently restored condition. It's one the most common and most affordable of the Snorkel pens. You can find these all day long on eBay ( https://ebay.us/JPZMjP ), even today. Pricing will vary based on the condition, restoration, and the rarity of the pen you select. The Sentinel will be one of the most common and affordable while on the more expensive end you have, for example, the Sheaffer Snorkel Autograph.

The nib is called the "Triumph" nib design.
