An anal fistula is a narrow tunnel with an internal opening in the anal canal and an external opening in the skin near the anus.

Anal fistulas can cause upsetting side effects, for example, distress and skin allergies, and won't generally show signs of improvement without treatment as medical procedure is suggested for anal fissure.
