Allard J2R with outrageous Cadillac pushrod V8!

This is a Cadillac V8-engined #Allard J2R – similar to the open cycle-wing bodywork version campaigned at #LeMans in 1950 where one acheived a third overall and a first in class – one of two to enter Le Mans in 1953. After its duty as a works car it was sold to US Air Force General Curtis E. LeMay, to which the graphics on the side of the car refer. Here it is seen at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard in 1999! #gwspeedweek
