For testing purposes, and because I use my speakers with grills on unless my daughter is not home, I tested these speakers with all grills installed.

With the grills off the pioneer and ELAC gain .5 - 1db in treble, and the Sony remain the same.
The ELAC have a removable metal grill under the cloth one, see my video on how to remove this.
This does help the treble, but not enough that I would recommend doing this if you have children or pets that may damage the speaker. It is a minial difference to put it generously.

*Give these speakers time to break in before giving a final judgment.
*ELAC BS41 treble will sound a little harsh at first but will smooth out after break in.
*I do not discuss prices as they are subject to change often.
