Smile (Marta) - Ed Motta - Bass Practice

This is a practice video I've done of the Ed Motta song "Smile (Marta)" from his 2013 album AOR.

The main lick in this song is 4 bars long. Here you can play that main lick 4 times at 5 different tempos. 81, 91, 101, 111, and 116. The original tempo was 111BPM.

I think the key to this one is to pay attention to the open strings and to be sure to slur (hammer-on) between the "ah" of 2 and the downbeat of 3. This will help you to really hear the "melody" of this bass line.
