Hi All,
Using a wide sanding block with very coarse paper is a simple way to shape wood on the Lathe. Last week when I made the classic cherry bench the most difficult part for me was turning the long cylinder after the detail at the top of the leg. By using a wide sanding block and very coarse paper I was able to create the legs without any high or low spots. Hope this tip helps you out.
