Larch Bonsai Root Pruning And Vine Weevil Damage (Spring 2019 Update)

With the arrival of spring it's now time for my larch (Larix × marschlinsii) bonsai's yearly root pruning. It's been a couple of years since I last root pruned my larch so it's well overdue. Unfortunately there has been a vine weevil infestation slowly eating away the roots of my Larch and weakening it. In this video I prune out the old roots and remove as much compost and vine weevils as possible, before potting up the larch in new compost. I also adjust the wires to make sure they are not cutting into the stems.
