Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 171 points, or 0.92 per cent, higher at 18,719, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for positive start on Monday.

US stocks finished sharply higher on Friday as talks on raising the US debt ceiling progressed, while chip stocks surged for a second straight day on optimism about artificial intelligence.


US stock futures and Asian equities advanced as appetite for risk taking returned to global markets following the deal between President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on the US debt ceiling.
