An ancient Shiva temple called Khajuraho of Gujarat-Dahod| प्राचीन शिव मंदिर दाहोद बावका

11 km from Dahod. The ancient Shiv Panchayat temple situated in the distant Bavaka village reminds of the golden age of Solanki period in desolation. This tample, there are beautiful sculptures of elephants in different postures all around the walls. Due to the abundance of Mithun Shilpa, this ancient pagoda is known as 'Khajuraho of Gujarat'. This temple is from 11th century


According to the Archaeological Department, this temple is of the 10th century. The temple has pictures of Apsaras in dancing posture and attractive ornaments of Gandharva girls, charming expressions of Apsaras. This temple is considered to be Dwi Angi. There are many statues of Apsaras carved all around the temple. This temple has been declared heritage by Indian Archaeology.



दाहोद से 11 कि.मी. दूर बावाका गांव में स्थित प्राचीन शिव पंचायत मंदिर भग्नावसता में सोलंकी कालीन स्वर्ण युग की याद दिलाता है| इस मंदिर की दीवारों पर चारों तरफ हाथियों के सुंदर सिल्प अलग-अलग मुंद्रा में है| मिथुन शिल्पा की प्रचुरता के कारण इस प्राचीन शिवालय को 'गुजरात का खजुराहो 'के नाम से जाना जाता है| ११ वी सदी का है यह मंदिर....


पुरातत्व विभाग के अनुसार यह मंदिर १० वी सदी का है|मंदिर में नृत्य मुद्रा वाले अप्सराओं और गंधर्व कन्याओं के आकर्षक आभूषणों, अप्सराओं की मनमोहक अदाओं की तस्वीर है| इस मंदिर को द्वि अंगी माना जाता है| मंदिर की चारों तरफ उत्प्रेरण की गई कई अप्सराओं की प्रतिमा है| भारतीय पुरातत्व द्वारा इस मंदिर को हेरिटेज घोषित किया गया है|
