Being incarcerated didn’t stop me from staying connected with my family. Through letters, handmade cards, drawings, and arts & crafts, I found a way to express my love, struggles, and growth. In the midst of early recovery, every stroke of a pencil and every word written was a step toward healing.

Jail was tough, but creating art and writing to my family gave me purpose and hope. These letters told a story of pain, redemption, and the fight for a better future.

I am sharing my life with you. Showing that recovery is possible. My sobriety date is 3/18/16. We can enjoy and be grateful for even the little things in life. Our past doesn't define us, and it's okay to talk about it. Do what you need to do to help you heal. You never know who's heart you'll touch or who you'll help. We are not alone with the dark stuff we've been through and with the things we still go through in recovery. Everything is going to be okay. We can get through it together.
