“Keep the Forest in British Columbia’s Forestry”- UNBC NREM 333, Forestry Field School - Part One

Описание к видео “Keep the Forest in British Columbia’s Forestry”- UNBC NREM 333, Forestry Field School - Part One

The NREM 333 two-week field camp course, offered each summer at the University of Northern British Columbia, aims to give students a comprehensive, professional-level understanding of forest resource management by building on their accumulated undergraduate knowledge and experiences. This field camp creates a dynamic environment where students, instructors, and resource professionals can collaborate to apply and discuss concepts from classroom and lab studies, as well as real-world employment. Through hands-on activities, students develop practical skills in integrated resource management, focusing on non-timber forest values at various spatial and temporal scales. Designed for third-year students, this course also lays the groundwork for fourth-year studies, where a deeper understanding of multi-value forest management and integration is essential. Taught in modules led by local experts in the field, NREM 333 promotes teamwork and active discussion in a real-world setting.
