Beyoncé Uncovers The Dark History of Country Music | Cowboy Carter Visuals

Описание к видео Beyoncé Uncovers The Dark History of Country Music | Cowboy Carter Visuals

After Beyoncé made history with her song “Texas Hold ‘Em” hitting No. 1 on Billboard’s country chart, making her the first Black female artist to ever hold the top spot, she set her eyes on reclaiming the country music genre in a perfectly executed history lesson on the Dark and Shady History of Country Music.

I remember hearing rumblings in the streets about Country being the new genre that Beyoncé would explore in Act II of her Three-Album project that gave birth to the cultural phenomenon now Know as Renaissance in Act I. I was windmilling in the streets for the Queen because a lot of my friends were nervous about the idea of her even thinking about doing a “country Album” especially after what she had gone thru almost ten years ago when she dropped Daddy Lessons and performed it on one of the biggest stages in country music. That performance was met with so much backlash and it was eventually scrubbed from the CMA’s website. And let’s not even talk about what happened in 2019 with Lil Nas X dropping Old Town Road.

It’s Justin Diego back with another bingeworthy video and today let’s talk about the Dark and Shady History of country music and how Beyonce’s decision to take up space in the Country music drama in Act II is so intentional. Oh yeah and her song “16 Carriages” also charted, debuting at No. 9.

Was Country Music Originally Black?
When I first heard about Black Americans inventing country music, I was so confused because if you think about the state country music today that’s really hard to take in. But I took a deep dive and all roads led me to the banjo.

Country Music Is So Black
So we are officially in our Country Era and ACT II is out now. I am so grateful for Beyonce educating us on the Dark and Shady History of Country Music and I am so glad that she featured some really great black country artists like Willie Jones, Shaboozy, and Tanner Adele. Yall there are so many great black country artist out there and one of my favorites right now is Breland so we have to show our support. I learned so much making this video like how Ray Charles made one of the greatest country records of all time and there is still so much to for me to learn. I can’t wait to continue to educate myself as I mentally prepare myself for everything Beyonce has in store.

Thank you so much for watching this bingeworthy video with me. It has truly been my pleasure.
