Historic Vautravers Building Relocated in Chicago

Описание к видео Historic Vautravers Building Relocated in Chicago

Wolfe House Movers slid the historic brick and limestone apartment building known as the Vautravers building sideways 30' and back 4' to make room for the Chicago Transit Authority's Red and Purple Modernization Project. Wolfe used thirty-four 100-ton jacks to lift the 850-ton building off its foundation and moved it with eleven hydraulic push/pull rams attached to heavy skates. This process was synchronized with the Unified Hydraulic Jacking System by Buckingham Structural Moving Equipment. The three-story solid masonry building now sets safely in its new position on the lot where it will hopefully continue for at least another 130 years as a part of Chicago's unique and storied architecture.
