JSW MG Motor Launches Windsor EV at ₹9.99 Lakh | Innovative Battery-as-a-Service Model Explained

JSW MG Motor India, on Wednesday, introduced the new Windsor EV at an introductory price of ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, this price does not include the battery, which is offered separately under a subscription model called Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS). According to the company, with this subscription model, users pay ₹3.5 per kilometre for battery use as this aims to reduce the initial purchase cost of the vehicle. Parth Jindal, a member of the Steering Committee at JSW MG Motor India, told CNBC-TV18 in an exclusive interview, “I don’t want Windsor to compete with EVs. I want it to challenge the larger internal combustion engine (ICE) segment.”
