Starfield Ship Build: A Late-Game Smuggler that won't Break the Bank

This is a "cargo" ship I built in Starfield. I call it the "Regular Hauler" because I am just carrying legitimate cargo... Ok, so maybe it has 5 shielded cargo holds. So what? It features maximum crew capacity, and generous cargo space. It also includes a nice interior with one of each type of workbench. It even has a nice bridge that has stairs, so you won't need to climb ladders (although there is a ladder in the interior, it only leads to the upper crew living space, and you won't usually need to go up there).

You can build it from a Va’ruun Prophecy III for less than 70k if you keep the weapons that come with the Prophecy III and don't add any more (It will be less than 55k if you have all of the commerce perks). It would be ideal if you can spend a bit more than that, because then you can improve your firepower and maybe your shields.

The weapons that come with the Va’ruun Prophecy III are pretty good, which is why I chose it as a starting point for this build. It also has a solid reactor, grav drive, and a decent shield. Later in the build video, I will show some possible upgrades, which may be useful if you happen to have some extra credits laying around. You can make these upgrades incrementally if you can't afford them all at once.

This ship does NOT require glitching or mods, and no mods are used in this video.


I mentioned that I created a mod to rebalance the ship weapons. The 250MeV Alpha Turret was re-balanced to consume more power, so it will benefit from being sent additional power. Although you can still get away with running it at 1/2 power, it will be much slower at 1/12 power. The mod also improves the weaker weapon types (basically anything that isn't a particle beam) so the railgun gets a boost. That mod is available here:

Again, this particular build was done with no mods installed. I like my mods, but I think it gives my videos a more broad appeal if I make them without using mods.
