On September 2, 2021, Broadway's WAITRESS The Musical, by Sara Bareilles, made its triumphant return at the Barrymore Theatre. At the curtain call (which press was given permission to film), Sara made a speech honoring the late Nick Cordero, who played Earl in the original Broadway production of Waitress and passed away from Covid. Nick's wife Amanda Kloots joined the cast for a singalong of Nick's hit song, Live Your Life, for which a pie in the show is now named.
