I first heard this done by David Gilmour and his daughter Romany as part of their "Von Trapped Family" series and was intrigued by it.

Cohen has described this as a prayer. As always, his words are beautiful, but ambiguous. I'll leave it up to you to decide just who it is that he is praying to!
