May 20, 1980... The love/hate relationship with KISS was in full swing on this one. When it comes to UNMASKED, some people love it and some hate it. What we know now that we didn't know then is that it's probably the most singular piece of vinyl fraud from the band. What does that mean? PETER CRISS doesn't appear anywhere on this album except in the cover art. The drummer for all tracks on this album is ANTON FIG. PAUL STANLEY plays bass on most of his songs. ACE FREHLEY plays most of the instruments on his songs. When you look at the hit single SHANDI, the only member of KISS that plays on the song is Paul. Despite all of this craziness, the album still works for some. Whether you love it or hate it, UNMASKED turns 44 today 🤘
