Zombified Lady Beetle

Описание к видео Zombified Lady Beetle

In most of the the cases, a parasitic wasp emerges as an adult from their host, and the host dies,
but in the case of this Green Eyed Wasp, the host bug is kept alive, and energetic enough to shake its body in a frequent manner, for almost a week.
This is "braconid" type of wasp, its a "Parthenogenetic" wasp, and biologically known as "Dinocampus coccinellae".
And she lays her egg in most "Coccinellidae", or Lady Beetles.

The host pink beetle is kept alive, as the video shows. It is critical scenario. Because if the larvae over eats the ladybug from inside, keeping
itself more healthy, larva risks its own future. Because a beetle may die while playing a roll of a baby sitter of wasp cocoon.
If larva eats the beetle stingily, keeping the beetle healthy for future needs, it may grow weaker, and may become unsuccessful to break out the beetle abdomen.
In such case, both the insects life will be on risk. The whole process is meticulous, and that is why very interesting for science lovers.

And there is key roll of a mysterious virus in this whole phenomena. One more strange thing is, roughly 25% of the host lady beetle survives this.
And some of them reproduce as well, Which further enhances their strong lineage.
