In 1942, besieged and battered island-fortress Malta, was struggling to keep up with the constant air attacks of Axis powers. Attempts to provide Malta with air power either failed or proved insufficient. But on the 10th of May, thanks to a fresh supply of Spitfires, Malta started turning things around - and eventually went on the offense.

Ray Polidano speaks to Sarah Carabott about the trying events that led to the day dubbed 'the glorious 10th of May'.
