Unjust Treatment: SST Community in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Demands Basic Pay Scale 17

In response to the finance department's letter, the SST Welfare Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held a meeting yesterday at Government Higher Secondary School No. 1 Peshawar under the chairmanship of Provincial President Muhammad Tufail. Female SSTs sisters also participated in the meeting. Extreme outrage was expressed at the SST community for putting obstacles in the way of their legitimate rights and for treating them with abhorrent attitude. The meeting demanded that the SST community deprived of upgradation since 1991 should be given basic pay scale 17 from July 1, 2023 as per the approval of the government cabinet meeting. Secondary school teachers play a key role in the education department. Except Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, other provinces of Sindh, Punjab, Baluchistan and federally managed schools have been given SST scale 17.
