A part of Doune that I would think not to many people know of, The Suzie Shaw's bridge over the Draegon Burn
Now the story goes that years ago Suzie Shaw's work at the Woodside hotel but was not allowed to go through the front entrance, so she had to cross over the Draegon Burn at the rear of the hotel but in doing this she offend got wet and muddy. So some good soles of Doune village heard of her plight and decided to build her a small bridge to give her safe passage for years to come.
The bridge has been replaced a few times over those years and it’s now come to us the Doune pond volunteers to replace it once more.
