In this Mathematics and Physics video in Hindi for class 11 and class 12 we explained how we perform differentiation and get derivatives. Basically, differentiation gives us the rate of change in a variable with respect to another variable. e.g., y is a variable and a function of x, then dy/dx gives us the rate of change of y with respect to x.

Some basic derivatives :

d/dx(c) = 0, c is a constant
d/dx(x) = 1
d/dx(cx) = c
d/dx(x^n) = n x^(n-1)
d/dx(sin x) = cos x
d/dx(cos x) = - sin x
d/dx(tan x) = sec^2(x)
d/dx(sec x) = (sec x)(tan x)
d/dx(cot x) = - cosec^2(x)
d/dx(cosec x) = - (cosec x)(cot x)
