The Turks and Caicos Islands are a British Overseas Territory consisting of the larger Caicos Islands and smaller Turks Islands, two groups of tropical islands in the Lucayan Archipelago of the Atlantic Ocean and northern West Indies.
North Caicos is the second-largest island in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Known as the ‘Garden Island’, North Caicos is filled with lush vegetation and hills. The island is 41 sq. miles with a population of approximately 1500 residents.
Middle Caicos is the largest island with lowest populations in the Turks and Caicos. Middle Caicos boasts pristine beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters and the Island is home to some of the largest limestone cave systems in the Caribbean region with the underground caves extending for miles and connecting to the ocean.
North and Middle Caicos are connected via 1mile long limestone quarry fill embankment roadway. It is called as the North and Middle Caicos Causeway.
TAKING A DAY TRIP to North Caicos and Middle Caicos is one of the top activities for guests staying on the island of Providenciales.
Trip to North and Middle Caicos is started from Providenciales, where Primary International Airport of Turks and Caicos exist. From Walkin Marina of Providenciales TCI ferries departing regularly 3 to 5 times everyday to Bellefield Landing of North Caicos. Travel time is 25minutes through North Atlantic Ocean and cost for round trip for adult is USD 65.
From North Caicos hire a car to visit main attractions of North and Middle Caicos. Rental cars will drop at Bellefield Landing of North Caicos at end of the trip.
Few travels agency conduct tour for North and Middle Caicos from Providenciales which include lunch also.
Dragon Cay Resorts are only resorts for night stay at Middle Caicos. Except that few home stays may be available.
