Demystifying the Russell 2000 Index for Beginners

Описание к видео Demystifying the Russell 2000 Index for Beginners

What's the Russell 2000?

When you hear people talk about the stock market crashing or being up big, they are usually referring to an index. And maybe you have heard of the S&P 500 or the Dow Jones or Nasdaq, but in this video I want to talk about the Russell 2000.

The Russell 2000 is an index that tracks two-thousand "small cap" stocks and it an important benchmark for measuring this part of the economy. From companies like AMC, Crocs, and Avis the Russell 2000 includes companies with a median market capitalization of $1 billion dollars.

Keep watching and we'll go through the history of the Russell 2000, examine it's past performance of Russell 2000 ETFs like Vanguard's $VTWO and I'll share at the end of the video whether or now I personally invest my money in a Russell 2000 fund.

Thanks for watching!
