The verse references, in order of mention~

(See Genesis 14:18-20 for the story of Melchizedek bringing Abraham the bread and wine)

(For the story of Mephibosheth, see II Samuel chapter 9)

Proverbs 4:18- The path of the righteous shines brighter and brighter until the full day

John 10:10- Jesus came that we may have life, and life abundantly

Colossians 3:3- You died, and your life is hidden in Christ

“For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.”
‭‭I Corinthians 11‬:‭23‬-‭26

Romans 5:9- We are justified by Jesus’s blood

Revelation 12:11- We overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb

John 1:29- “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

Leviticus 17:11- The life of the flesh is in the blood

Ecclesiastes 9:7- Eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart

II Corinthians 3:17- Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty

(See Luke 15:22-32 for the celebration of the prodigal son’s return)

“Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.”
‭‭I Cor.‬ ‭11‬:‭27‬-‭28

^ The word there for “examine” is the Greek word δοκιμαζέτω, from “dokimazo” meaning “to examine with a view of approval”

Romans 12:1- Present yourself as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God

Ephesians 1:6- God made us accepted in Jesus the Beloved

“For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.”
‭‭I Cor.‬ ‭11‬:‭29

^ The word there for “discerning” is διακρίνων (“diakrino”) meaning “to separate, or make a distinction between the two”

1 Peter 2:24 and Isaiah 53- By Jesus’s wound we were healed and we ARE healed

(See Exodus 12:8-9 for God’s instructions for Israel to eat the roasted lamb, a shadow pointing to Jesus)

“For this reason (of not discerning the body) many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭30‬-‭32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

^ For “When we are judged”, the Greek word there for “judged” is διεκρίνομεν, from the same root word of “diakrino”, meaning “to be seperated, or make a distinction”

^ For “We are chastened”, the Greek word for “chastened” is παιδευόμεθα from the Greek root word “paideuo” meaning “to educate a child”
