Do you want to get rid of your strong accent? Me too. And that's why the more I try pronouncing the words correctly, the better people understand me, and I gain their respect (and their deals.)

If you are immersed in the English world, watching TV, talking to strangers or listening to music always, you will be surprised by the number of words that are similar to terms in your idiom. Of course, if you come from a Latin language speaking country.

Words like Transparent, Accident, Elevator and Problem are quite similar than their cognate ones in Portuguese, French and Spanish. But if you look closely, their strong accent is in a different syllable. Catch this little trick, see how the native-speakers pronounce them and get rid of the strange faces they make when they are trying to understand you.
