This month is 35 years Dreamworld opened on the Gold Coast. Here are some classic ads from 1985 - 2013.

Dreamworld is a theme park situated on the Gold Coast in Queensland. It is Australia's largest theme park with over 40 rides and attractions, including five roller coasters.

The park is made up of several themed lands: Ocean Parade, DreamWorks Experience, Wiggles World, Gold Rush Country, Rocky Hollow, Tiger Island and the Dreamworld Corroboree. These lands have a collection of rides, animal exhibits, shows, food outlets and merchandise shops

1981 - December 15 - Dreamworld opens. Opening day attractions included the IMAX Theatre, a Baldwin Locomotive (now known as the Dreamworld Express), Model T Fords (now known as Vintage Cars), Rocky Hollow Log Ride, Australian Koala Theatre and the Captain Sturt Paddle-wheeler.

1982 - Thunderbolt opened as the world's longest steel double loop roller coaster. Gum Tree Gully also opened.

1983 - Blue Lagoon water park opened and Dreamworld introduced Belinda Brown as the park's third mascot.

1984 - The park began seven-day trading after two years of only being open Thursday through to Tuesday.

1986 - Gold Rush Country (now the Town of Gold Rush) opened featuring Eureka Mountain Mine Ride and Thunder River Rapids Ride.

1987 - Koala Country opened.

1989 - Skylink Chairlift opened.

1993 - The Wipeout ride opened as part of the new Ocean Parade themed area.

1995 - Tiger Island opened with the Riverwalk Restaurant (now known as the Billabong BBQ and Buffet).

1997 - Tower of Terror opened.

1998 - The Giant Drop opened.

2001 - The Australian Wildlife Experience opened after the refurbishment and expansion of Koala Country. Big Brother Australia commenced broadcasting following the redevelopment of Dreamworld's Amphitheatre. In December 2001, the Cyclone opened after its relocation from Luna Park Sydney where it was known as "The Big Dipper".

2002 - Nick Central replaced Kennyland and Village Oval to include a wide variety of new and refurbished children's rides.

2003 - August - The Thunderbolt is closed.

2004 - September - The Claw opens.

2005 - March - Skylink Chairlift and Gum Tree Gully close.
September - Wiggles World opens.

2006 - April - Blue Lagoon is closed.
June - Flowrider openes
November - The Eureka Mountain Mine Ride closed.

2007 - September - Mick Doohan's Motocoaster opened[19][20] after the relocation of the Avis Vintage Cars.

2008 - December - V8 Supercars RedLine opened.

2009 - September - The Tower of Terror relaunched as the Tower of Terror II featuring a new, reversed car.

2011 - June - Shockwave opened.
September - Buzzsaw opened.

2012 - March - DreamWorks Experience opens.
December - Pandamonium opens.

2014 - April - Reef Diver closes.
September - Tailspin opens.

2015 - June - ABC Kids World opens.
December - Cyclone becomes Hot Wheels Sidewinder.

2016 - New look Tiger Island opens. Thunder River Rapids closed.
