Storm Doris - High Winds, Hard Landings & Diversions at London Luton Airport! | 23/02/17

Not the best day for flying to say the least. This was the day of "Storm Doris" in the UK which bought with it extremely high winds from the West and driving rain across the country. The strong westerly wind meant that the majority of London airports we not actually suffering with a crosswind, apart from Stansted because of its runway being North East to South West facing. So out of all London Airports Stansted seemed to be worst hit by the storm, with many missed approaches and several diversions including 2 featured here in this video that ended up at Luton. Despite the high winds at Luton, during the few hours I was there I didn't see any go arounds, much to my surprise. But the wind was so strong I couldn't film outside, so I took refuge in my car to film this.

INCLUDES: Monarch A320, Sun-Air Dornier Do-328 (Diversion), Wizz Air A321's & A320's, EasyJet A320's & A319, Ryanair 737's and a few bizjets as well.

The first clip of the Wizz A321 was my attempt at filming outside, but from then on I was sat in the car to film instead.
A chaotic day for the UK and the skies above it. Huge holding patterns, many delays and diversions from many airports.
