Sports massage for the forearm; Pronator teres

Описание к видео Sports massage for the forearm; Pronator teres

If you have clients coming in complaining of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome which is median nerve compression type condition , i suggest you start your treatment process with the Pronator Teres as it has been cited as a median compressor aswell.

TRIGGER POINT
Trigger point referall in PT commonly refers to the ulnar region of the wrist and the rest of the ulnar surface of the forearm

ANATOMY
PT has 2 heads the first attaches to humeral head at the distal aspect of the humerus and the ulnar from the coronoid process. It inserts to the lateral surface of the radius.

FUNCTION
Pronator teres pronates the forearm and also assists in flexion of the elbow, it has a synergist muscle in pronator quadratus that assists.

It is innervated by the median nerve ( C6,C7).

TREATMENT
I demonstrate safe and sustainable treatment to PT and its trigger point, always check in with your client for depth , pressure and comfort. Along with the other flexors of the forearm this is very important muscle to treat for elbow and wrist function
