What you’re watching in this video is a live look at what it looks like when I get stressed. Instead of editing and finishing my manuscript with a looming deadline, I decided to clean out my fridge… Sounds pretty unproductive right?!

Wrong! Procrastinating is a form of stress relief. When I’m distracting myself from what’s stressing me out, in this case it’s finishing my manuscript, I give my brain a break by tackling a different, less stressful project, like cleaning out my fridge (although just looking at all the stuff I have piled on the counters I’m starting to feel stressed just watching this video LOL).

Procrastination, when done in moderation 😉, can you help you take a break and get back to your project at hand with a clear head and a fresh mindset. You just have to know when it’s time to get back into the driver’s seat and get your foot back on the gas.

Self-awareness is the secret to taking control of your life. Start just recognizing when you get hijacked by old patterns and when your stress, uncertainty, and anxiety kicks you into autopilot mode.
